An oasis is defined as a “place of refuge” in the desert. Abraham's Oasis is aptly named.
I had first heard of Abraham's Oasis /Grace Village through Ruth Kennedy, nurse midwife. Reading letters about the work done there was intriguing, but did not adequately describe the magnitude of the work done there. I decided to visit, and found a ministry with a well organized structure. Comprehensive care is holistically delivered, and programs addressing the physical, spiritual, intellectual and emotional needs of women and children are thriving. The Oasis Foundation also extends its ministry to surrounding communities in the form of healthcare services. Rapid Relief Clinics have been initiated in 2 other villages. In one particular clinic, patient mortality has decreased from 28% to only 4%.
If you would like to support compassionate, competent care delivered on a minimal budget in the name of Christ, I urge you to contact Abraham's Oasis/ Grace Village. Additionally, I urge all maternal and child healthcare providers and NGOs (non-profit organizations) to duplicate the structure of the Grace Village programs in their own organizations.
Sincerely,
